Carl Kaufman has been a search professional in natural resources since 2004 and has been servicing the market in North America since 2015. He is an expert within executive and targeted search, has held senior leadership roles with global, national and boutique firms and has been a trusted advisor to his clients in helping them attract and engage key talent to ensure they achieve business objectives.

Carl started his career in the staffing industry in Perth, Western Australia, building a practice focused on servicing Western Australia’s booming mining industry. He holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree from the University of Western Australia.

When Carl is not finding key leaders for progressive organizations you will find him in the mountains hiking or backcountry skiing, blue water sailing and ocean racing, or at a beach somewhere focusing on his passion for surfing and the ocean.

Michael Persson began his career in search in 2012 and brings more than a decade of experience supporting organizations across industrial sectors including mining, forestry and renewable energy.

Michael is a relationship-focused search professional known for his approachable style, industry knowledge, and results-driven mindset. He leverages a strong professional network and a deep understanding of talent markets to connect organizations with highly qualified professionals while ensuring a positive, consultative experience for both clients and candidates. His commitment to understanding business needs and individual motivations has enabled him to build long-standing, trusted partnerships.

With extensive experience searching for senior, site-based leadership roles, Michael has developed a strong understanding of the technical, operational, and cultural requirements of industrial environments.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, where he was a four-year member of the men’s hockey program

His experience spans site-based, corporate, and consulting roles, supported by a deep and established network of Mine Engineers, Geologists, and Technical Services professionals. Shawn takes a consultative, partnership-driven approach, working closely with clients and candidates to ensure strong technical alignment, cultural fit, and long-term success.

Shawn’s introduction to the mining industry began in the microcap finance space, where he gained early exposure to how mining companies are formed, funded, and scaled from the ground up.
